Two Rivers and Four Lakes

Double Rivers and Four Lakes scenic spot refers to the beautiful scenic combination of the Li River, the Taohua River,the Rong Lake,Shan Lake,Gui Lake and Mulong Lake.
Guihu Lake, Ronghu Lake and Shanhu Lake dates back from the Song Dynasty. The place where the Mulong Lake is was ever a piece of land. To recover the beauty of the round-the- city water system, Guilin municipal Party committee and Government decided in 1998 to connect the lakes, clean the river bed, build bridges and repair roads. The project of Two River and Four Lakes was started at that time. The Two River and Four Lakes nowadays connect rivers and lakes with various attractions. The lake banks are paved with slabe covered in lush trees, convenient for travelers to walk and enjoy the scenery. The night scene of the lakes and rivers are particularly charming when the area is colorfully lit. At night, cruise bottles shuttle to and fro o-n the lakes, travelers and local strollers walk around , folk artist give performance o-n the lake bank to passerby.
Guilin is located in low latitude,having the subtropical monsoon climate-- moderate climate, abundant rain and light supply?aits average temperature is 19.3 degree. Guilin has warm winters and cool summers, the autumn is considered as the optimum time to travel.

The scenic combination has three thematic scenic spots,namely¡êothe Mulong ancient channel scenic spot, whose main scenery are Mulong ancient ferry and ancient city walls, background are Baoji Hill and Diecai Hill, embodying the city cultures; The Gui lake scenic spot featured by forest natures and wildness. Rong Lake and Shan Lake scenic spot characterized by city's space feature?acities and the sceneries merge into each others. Different from the Li River's mountain and water, Double Rivers and Four Lakes scenic spot underlies the profound historical and cultural deposits of Guilin, which was a famous historical and cultural city. Besides visiting the three main scenic spots, travelers also can enjoy many water-surrounded traditional mountains, including the Elephant Hill, the Fubo Hill, the Diecai Hill, the Rao Hill, and the Baoji Hill.
